Ten steps to inspecting the house or building

Before purchasing house or building, you should have certain information in order to ensure the quality of structure. People face lot of trouble due to lack of knowledge.
To fix these problems, they spend thousand of dollars but still they get nothing. They need building inspectors and pest inspectors who help you to get rid of these issues.

If they don’t find anyone then ultimately they evacuate the house or building.
The question is why they do so? You should learn this.

Why not we ensure first that house or building we are going to purchase is in good condition. You should value your money. If you hire professional pre-purchased building inspectors then you can be saved from ultimate loss. No one can take place of professional building inspectors and pest inspectors. But to have some basic understanding, we give you quick check list for building pre-purchased and pest inspection. By reading this article, you will better evaluate the expertise of inspection team if you want to hire them in future.

Here is the pre- purchased and pest inspection checklist for house, apartment or building;

1. Check, are the doors open and shut without obstruction of the door frame? The shape of door should be rectangular and it should be within its frame.
Are the windows open and close smoothly? Check their cracked panels of glasses and damp damage.

2. All premises must be pest free.

3. Make sure wall has no any damp issue. There should be no mould stains or irregular area of fresh paint at any wall.

4. Ensure that ceiling has not much patch work. If it is consistent then it could be more reliable.

5. In kitchen, look at sink and junction of the splash back. There should be no damp stains at all.

6. Make sure that plumbing fitting is secure and correctly fitted. You can shake the joints gently and firmly to check their functionality.

7. In bathroom, turn tap on and off, check hot water, edge of shower basis, bath tubs, leakage issues, tiles and exhaust fan.

8. In toilets firstly check toilet seat, waste pipe, silicon sealant. Moreover, flush the toilet and view the area behind the seat and look for leaks. See, either water comes after cistern has been filled or not. It should be stopped, if coming continuously then there could be problem in it.

9. Electrical instrument and services are very important. Don’t touch any thing if you know nothing about these fixtures. But if you know something, then check fuse, wire system, circuit breaker etc. Also ensure physical presence of “Earth leakage safety switch”.

10. Check iron roof. It must be free of rust.

These are basics. There is still lot of information you can have from various topical hubs. But remember, these precautions are just for your knowledge and understanding so that you can better evaluate results.
